About the club

  • Director on stallCranleigh Film Club is a community-based club with a limited membership
  • We aim to provide a balanced programme of distinctive films from around the world. Films are chosen by members directly and indirectly through a sub-committee. Our programme complements but is separate from the mainstream programme of films shown at the Cranleigh Arts Centre
  • The club has a sociable atmosphere with refreshments on sale before the film
  • The club is a member of the British Federation of Film Societies (BFFS) which trades as Cinema for All
  • Our season runs from September to June
  • Our films are shown in the Bandroom in Cranleigh, GU6 8AF
  • Our films are screened on the last Thursday in each month
  • A preview and critique of each film is provided to members before screenings. Members may rate the films afterwards and the results are published
  • Attendance at our screenings is usually about 40 members and guests
  • The club supports a DVD library to enable members to borrow films that they have missed or wish to see again
  • The club sponsors community events relating to the medium of film
