Cranleigh Film Club is a community-based club with a membership limited to 120
- We aim to provide a balanced programme of distinctive films from around the world. Films are chosen by members directly and indirectly through a sub-committee. Our programme complements but is separate from the mainstream programme of films shown at the Cranleigh Arts Centre
- The club has a warm sociable atmosphere and refreshments before the film
- The club is a member of the British Federation of Film Societies (BFFS) and as such has full insurance cover
- Our season runs from September to June
- Our films are shown in the Bandroom in Cranleigh, GU6 8AF
- Our first film is screened on Friday 13 September 2019, to which prospective new members are invited: ’Open Evening’
- 12 films are screened on the last Thursday evening of each month (with three exceptions), except in September and March when we show two films
- A preview and critique of each film is provided to members before screenings. Members may rate the films afterwards and the results are published
- Attendance at our screenings is usually about 60 members and guests
- The club supports a DVD library to enable members to borrow films that they have missed or wish to see again
- The club sponsors community events relating to the medium of film
- Doors open at 7pm. Refreshments are on sale before the film starts at 7.30
- Fees for Season 9, September 2019 to June 2020, are £30, with a £5 reduction if paid by the Open Evening on Friday 13 September.
