A tense crime drama from Australia, which sets the nefarious activities of a gangster family against the changing world where criminals are moving into major drug trafficking, stock market manipulation and even “straight “ business.
The family is dominated by the classic matriarch of such dramas, played by Jacki Weaver in a terrifying award winning performance. A policeman, played by Guy Pearce, is determined to bring them to justice and uses the youngest, newest family member as the catalyst.
The physical violence is off camera but the colourful violent language is much to the fore.
