Based on the recollections of hundreds of migrants, the film depicts the true and often harrowing journey of four youngsters from Guatemala attempting an illegal crossing to the US, as well as the struggle to build a life on the other side. Facing exploitation, the only people they can trust are each other. Quemada-Díez learnt his trade working with Ken Loach.
